What We Do
govmates manages an ecosystem of nearly 5,000 non-traditional defense contractors, industry partners, academic institutions and government stakeholders. Our members represent multiple technology verticals and past performance in both the federal and commercial sectors.
With our technology scouting platform and diverse membership, we provide an Enterprise Level Solution to rapidly identify, develop and transition technologies in support of the Federal Government.
Leadership

Stephanie Alexander
Founder, govmates, LLC
Stephanie brings two decades of expertise in corporate administration, finance, contracts and procurement in both the federal and commercial sectors. She established a solid foundation in government contracting while acting as lead program manager for a growing non-traditional defense contractor leveraging multiple procurement vehicles, including STTRs and SBIRs. Stephanie supported several large programs with the Army focused on production of data communications software and hardware items deployed on Army aviation platforms such as the Apache, Kiowa, and Chinook, as well as on aircraft from other DOD services and allied armed forces. Stephanie was promoted to CFO and VP of Corporate Administration, responsible for executive management of the organization’s Finance, Contracts, Human Resource, Information Technology, Corporate Strategy, Marketing, and Recruiting departments.
In 2012, Stephanie founded BOOST LLC, an organization focused solely on helping non-traditionals within the GovCon space grow their companies. BOOST supports its clients in the areas of Accounting, Branding/Marketing, Contracts, HR, Recruiting and Strategic Pricing. Stephanie has extensive experience with creating organizations that are both scalable and compliant in the federal space.
Stephanie has both her MBA and undergraduate degree from Virginia Tech and serves on the MBA board. She has served on the board of the National Veteran Small Business Coalition for years. She holds PMP, SRHR, SHRM-SCP, APMP and ACC ICF certifications and has completed the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses Program.

Katie Bilek
Founder, govmates, LLC
Katie began her career at Goldman Sachs on the equity trading desk covering technology investors in Silicon Valley. During her career, Katie was involved in nearly 300 public offerings globally, working with institutional investors to analyze investments and to identify emerging technology opportunities. Her institutional vertical coverage included microelectronics, next-generation hardware, software, Internet and IoT, biotechnology, networking communications, space technology and many others.
Katie left her career on Wall Street when her husband was selected for a unit based in Quantico, VA to deploy to countries where narco-trafficking funds terrorism. She joined Republic Capital Access, the largest finance company dedicated to government contractors that provides over $1 billion in financing each year.
As the wife of a veteran, Katie is passionate about supporting the warfighter and their families, having served on the board of the National Veteran Small Business Coalition. Katie holds dual degrees in Finance and Spanish from the University of Texas at Austin. She currently holds Securities Licenses 3, 7, 63 and 65. She is the recipient of the SmartCEO Banker of the Year Award in 2014, and Washington Business Journal Minority Business Leader Award in 2015.
