Industry, government and academia will gather in-person on June 13 to examine the findings of a report by the Baroni Center for Government Contracting, The Power of Many: Leveraging Consortia to Promote Innovation, Expand the Defense Industrial Base, and Accelerate Acquisition. The report is co-authored by Baroni Center Senior Fellow Stephanie Halcrow and Moshe Schwartz, President of Etherton & Associates. Both will participate as panelists.
The first panel will discuss The Consortia Model’s Impact on the DIB and Innovation. Among the insights to be shared are how the consortia model improves the health and resiliency of the defense industrial base as well as provide the government and industry with a powerful tool to spur innovation. Joining Halcrow and Schwartz on the panel is Brigadier General Al Abramson (retired).
The second panel, How to Leverage OTs and Consortia to Grow Your Business, takes a deeper dive into this topic by examining OTAs, the consortia model, and how government and industry partners leverage these vehicles to diversify their suppliers and grow their customer base. Speakers include Katie Bilek, Chris Hoffman, Greg Sanders, Jay Rouse and Mike Stebbins.

VirtualOn September 29, 2020, the DoD issued an updated interim rule within its recent CMMC program. The updated rule announces the DoD Assessment Methodology (Assessment Methodology), an interim requirement for contractors before undergoing a full CMMC review.
The interim rule is designed as a two-phased approach to assess and verify the ability of contractors to protect controlled unclassified information (CUI) on their internal systems. Under this new guidance, the two phases of compliance are: (1) gap assessment using the NIST 800-171 DoD Assessment Methodology, and (2) formal CMMC certification.

GSA HeadquartersThe Difference: The VETS agenda is crafted by Veterans already doing business with the Federal government—Veteran Entrepreneurs who have walked in your shoes.
VETS 19 will bring together Federal agencies, Prime contractors, and Veterans to discuss how to take full advantage of the Federally mandated contracting opportunities set aside specifically for Veteran-owned small businesses.
Do you run a Veteran-owned or service-disabled Veteran-owned small business (VOSB/SDVOSB) and want to work with the government? Or do you want to team with a Veteran-owned company but aren’t sure how? Are you ready to take your business to the next level?
The National Veteran Small Business Coalitions has created VETS to help you accomplish your small business goals. The conference will provide you with the information you need to navigate the Federal acquisition process – from the government perspective as well as from successful veteran small business owners.
VETS connects thriving Veteran business owners with emerging Veteran entrepreneurs to expose the knowledge needed to acquire government contracts and teaming opportunities. While attending, also expect to network with government agencies, large companies, and potential clients and customers.
Veterans who have attained success are one of the best resources to help other Veterans follow suit. Register Now and see your small business succeed!
